Large Deer with Handles
This basket is approximately 8 3/4 ” in diameter and 10 1/2” handle to handle, and 2 1/4” tall. It was started on a handmade and painted pottery center. Brown long leaf pine needles were used along with some dyed dark brown needles and raffia for contrast. The stitches used were wheat and wrap. A decorative stitch was used on the handles, and there is a hanger on the back.
