Large Lavender with Handles
This basket was started on a 3 1/4” round piece of hand made and painted pottery center, and features a lavender sprig. The lavender was pressed into the wet clay before firing. This basket is approximately 8 3/4”x 10” handle to handle x 2”. Green long leaf pine needles were used along with some dyed dark needles and raffia for contrast. The stitches are wheat, wrap, and a decorative stitch was used on the handle. There is a hanger on the back.
